Speed boats have been operating in Fatehsagar Lake since a long time. These boats have also attracted a lot of tourists. But the fact that we have overlooked is that the speed boats have been quite disturbing for the birds in the lake.

The migratory birds and other water creatures get disturbed because of the speed, sound and fuel of the boats. A lot of migratory birds come to the lake and around the lake and their activities contribute in maintaining the ecological balance as well. They also add to the lake’s beauty.

Various organisations met with Udaipur Collector on Friday demanding that the operations of speed boats be stopped. Instead, rowing boats and solar operated boats can be used which will not affect the life of the winged creatures.

In the written appeal by Jyotsna Jhala (Pehel Sansthan, Udaipur), Shiv Singh Solanki (Co-ordinator Jagannath Dhaam Rath Yatra), Kamlendra Singh Panwar (Bajrang Sena Mewar), Yadavendra Singh Ralawta (Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha Mewar), Narendra Singh Shekhawat (Rashtriya Bhrashtachaar Virodhi Samiti) and Maya (Krishna Kalyan Sansthaan), it was demanded that Fatehsagar Lake must not have speed boats as the increasing number of speed boats are harming the natural habitat of the migratory birds. The operations of speed boats must be stopped with immediate effect for the safety of birds.
