You continue your work carefully, I am safe here. This was the answer of 40 year old Narayan Tomer who has been trapped since more than 117 hours, in 200ft deep tunnel near Dodavali Village, some 27kms far from Udaipur city.
Narayan, a resident of Kamrou village district Sirmour, 48km far from Dehradun, Himachal Pradesh is working for Coastal Projects, a company undertaking Dewas Water Project which is meant to supply water to lakes of Udaipur by digging a tunnel for special pipeline. He is trapped under the tunnel from 13th January.
Rescue Operation to save Narayan is going on with full pace, more than 30 workers with the team of engineers and technicians are trying hard to save Narayan.
Ifthikar Hussain, project in-charge said that their teams of rescuers are two and half meter far from Narayan. However, they managed to send food and medicine to him through a pipe lowered into the tunnel.
Kamal Tomer, a foreman working at dewas water project said that Narayan was more worried about his brother’s safety, his brother was also there at the time of incident but he managed to escape.
To rescue Narayan, the team is trying to slot in a 3 meter long and 1 and a half meter wide pipe in the blocked tunnel. Because of hard rocks, water and mud becoming the major obstacle, workers are forced to do some of the work manually. But it is believed that Narayan can come out by late tonight or early morning.
We hope and pray for the safe return of Narayan Tomer.
