Second direct communication since the May 11 ceasefire between Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai and Major General Kashif Abdullah
May 13, 2025 – The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan held a second round of talks yesterday, May 12. A decision was taken to continue the ceasefire and to ensure that no act of provocation is initiated by either side.
The talks were held between Indian DGMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai and his Pakistani counterpart Major General Kashif Abdullah. This was their second direct communication since the May 11 ceasefire.
The Indian Army was quoted as saying,"Talks between DGMOs (of India and Pakistan) were held at 5:00 pm, May 12, 2025. Issues related to continuing the commitment that both sides must not fire a single shot or initiate any aggressive and inimical action against each other were discussed.”
“It was also agreed that both sides consider immediate measures to ensure troop reduction from the borders and forward areas,” the source added.
Since the border tension escalated, Pakistan has significantly enhanced its military posture near the Line of Control and the International Border. This includes the forward movement of reserve troops, armoured units and Chinese-manufactured SH-15 155mm self-propelled artillery systems.
