A group of residents from Dholibawdi area presented a memorandum to district collector today. They demanded reinstatement of the area Police Chowki that has been shifted to Delhigate.

As per memorandum, the Police Chowki was facilitated in the Dholibawdi area 10 years back to maintain peace between the two communities residing in the area and to have a grip on criminal activities going on in the area.

Residents were satisfied with the Police Chowki’s presence as it helped in keeping the situation in the area under control. But recently, the chowki was shifted to Delhigate without any discussion with residents.

The residents claimed that there have already been few cases of clashes post moving the chowki to Delhigate. They maintained that these clashes are just the beginning and it will be a routine in some time. The residents asked Collector to reinstate the chowki in the area to maintain peace and communal harmony.

Collector has assured that he will take up the matter with the Superintendent of Police.
