Heavy rains in Udaipur have caused significant disruptions to the supply of milk and vegetables. The adverse weather has led to the suspension of 40 buses to Dungarpur and 7 buses to Ahmedabad from Udaipur.
Normally, 2 to 3 buses depart for Dungarpur each hour, but these services have been halted due to the rain. Passenger numbers on roadways buses in Udaipur have dropped by 85% as a result of the weather conditions.
The Udaipur Milk Producers Association has reported a reduction of up to 5,000 liters in daily milk supply. Sales of milk have decreased from 70,000 liters to 65,000 liters over the past two days.
In addition, Narendra Singh Shekhawat, Transportation Specialist, mentioned that 300 freight vehicles travel daily from Udaipur to Ahmedabad and Surat. These vehicles, carrying soapstone powder, fertilizers, marble, and other goods, are currently stuck on Highway-48 due to severe traffic jams.
