Dr. Subodh Kumar Agrawal, Divisional Commissioner issued the guidelines for boating in water bodies of Udaipur region according to the protocols of boating laid by Rajasthan State Government.

Dr. Subodh Agrawal said, “All the water bodies present in various districts should be marked and listed. In addition to that, there should be a maintenance department to look after the maintenance of the water bodies. The process of information gathering should be done on the level of Patwari and Gramsevak and Tehsil along with Sub-divisional office where the information must be kept as a document.”

He added, “In rainy seasons, visitors visit lakes, water bodies and places of attraction adjacent to them. Therefore it is very important to keep a record of such places especially where boating is done. The information regarding the licensed boats in the region, number of passengers allowed in a boat, capacity of boat etc. should be displayed publically.”

He instructed the concerned administration offices to strictly adhere to the rules regarding number of boats permitted in that water body and it must be ensured that the boats are physically checked by the department of transport before issuing the license.

District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police also received the instruction by him to prepare a flying squad comprising of the members of the related departments to regularly keep a check on fitness and legal running of boats, as the rainy season is on the verge.

For places marked for special disaster management, he instructed to facilitate rescue-parties, divers and safety and communicational devices at the marked locations. He asked the concerned departments to present conformity report till 31^st May about the action taken of given instructions and guidelines.
