A meeting pertaining to the National Lake Conservation Plan (NLCP) was held today at the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) office. The meeting was chaired by Ashok Singhvi, Joint Secretary, Urban Development.

UIT Secretary R.P Sharma and other officials were also present in the meeting where Ashok Singhvi checked and discussed on all projects going on under the NLCP. He gathered information regarding the work going on in lakes of Pichola and Fatehsagar, sewage work in the city, etc.

Singhvi has shown concern over the sewage work as the rainy season might cause an unexpected situation.

Directing towards central government’s objective and view on NLCP, Singhvi stated that finance should not be the excuse, and if any project is delayed or suffering just because of money, then local officials should approach senior authorities.

“Make a proposal and send it to Delhi”, said Singhvi.
