Udaipur Municipal Corporation has taken a significant step towards easing traffic congestion in the city by presenting a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for an elevated road from City Station to the Collector's Bungalow in the High Court. Mayor Govind Singh Tank spearheaded this initiative, ensuring comprehensive planning and addressing technical aspects. This elevated road will ease traffic congestion at Delhi Gate, Surajpol and Udiapole. 

Key Details

• The DPR considers factors such as curves, speed, and technical specifications to optimize the road's design. It outlines the precise locations of curves and the gradient of the road at various points.
•  Notably, the elevated road will be supported by a single pillar, minimizing its impact on the ground-level traffic flow.
• Previous delays due to technical flaws and objections from traders citing National Highway rules have prompted the court to mandate approval before construction proceeds.
• Mayor Govind Singh Tank emphasized the importance of learning from similar projects in Jaipur and Jodhpur, where elevated roads were constructed without National Highway Authority approval.

Financial Support and Construction

• The estimated cost of the project is between 300 to 350 crores, with funding contributions from Udaipur Municipal Corporation, Udaipur Development Authority (UDA), and the Central Ministry of Road Transport.
• Discussions regarding funding allocations have been finalized, indicating progress towards the project's implementation.

With all technical considerations addressed and financial support secured, the construction of the elevated road is poised to commence soon. With the use of a single pillar for support, the elevated road is expected to mitigate congestion on the streets below, further enhancing the city's transportation infrastructure.
