Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar gifts 16 Sprint Kayaks, strengthening kayaking and canoeing sports development in Mewar
Udaipur, Dec 18, 2025 - In a significant initiative aimed at promoting the sustainable development of kayaking and canoeing sports in Udaipur, Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), has gifted 16 new Sprint Kayaks to the talented athletes of Mewar, keeping in view their achievements and training requirements.
The inauguration of these boats was held at the City Palace complex on the banks of Lake Pichola and was jointly performed by Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani and Dr Lakshyaraj.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association said that these boats would prove extremely useful for the athletes’ regular practice and preparation for competitions. He added that the support extended by Dr Lakshyaraj and the Divisional Commissioner would play a crucial role in taking this sport to new heights at national and international levels.
Dr Mayank Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of MMCF, informed that the values and responsibilities of MMCF are being continuously upheld by Dr Lakshyaraj.
The Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association, athletes and their parents expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Dr Lakshyaraj for this gesture.
It is noteworthy that consistent efforts are being made in Udaipur to promote dragon boat, kayaking and canoeing sports and so far, four national-level Dragon Boat Championships, one Indian Dragon Boat Team selection and training camp, and an All India Inter-University Dragon Boat and Kayaking Competition have been successfully organised here.
Present at the launch were Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association Chairman Chandragupt Singh Chauhan, president Bhagwan Swaroop Vaishnav, Secretary Dilip Singh Chauhan, along with Mahesh Pimpalkar, Deepak Gupta, Kamlesh Hathi, Ajay Agarwal, coach Nishchay Singh Chauhan, Piyush Kachhawa, Tanishk Patwa and others.
