Dr. Udai Chandra Jain, an Indic Languages Scholar and a Famous Linguist was honored with a ‘Presidential Honor’ by Pratibha Patil, President of India at the Ashok Hall of the Rashtrapti Bhawan on 19th June 2012.

Dr. Udai Chandra Jain, honored by the PresidentDr. Udai Chandra Jain, an Indic Languages Scholar and a Famous Linguist was honored with a ‘Presidential Honor’ by Pratibha Patil, President of India at the Ashok Hall of the Rashtrapti Bhawan on 19th June 2012.

Dr. Jain was honored with the award for his exceptional contribution to Pali/Prakrit, an Indic Language. He was presented with an Appreciation Certificate and a Shawl. Dr Jain is the second Indic Language Scholar from Rajasthan to achieve this honor.

Dr. Jain, born in Madhya Pradesh has been working in Udaipur since last 27 years and he is also an Associate Professor for Jain Studies and Indic Languages in Mohanlal Sukhadhia University, Udaipur.

Over 30 students have completed their doctoral thesis under his mentorship.

Dr. Jain has been honored and felicitated with many other titles and honors in the past and he is also the author to several cross-language reference guides and dictionaries.
