As per latest information received, driving license and vehicle registration certificate will now reach directly to your residence by post. The step has been taken to avoid the hassles faced by consumers while visiting the middle-men or the agents for their vehicle’s license and registration work.

Similar to passport delivery by post, DL and RC will now be delivered at your door step. Some of the DLs and RCs have been already been dispatched on Wednesday which will reach on Thursday i.e. it will be a 24 hour delivery by post. Regional transport office receives applications for 450 RCs and around 250 DLs per day. After the formalities, the applicants have to visit the RTO to pick their licenses or registrations on working days. To avoid the hassle of being in queues, public normally contacts agents who charge more than the regular fees.

The government has now taken initiative to put an end to all these agents, hence the delivery by post. Directives were issued in this direction on 1^st August and the facility was finally enforced on 7^th August. Applicants are required to give exact postal address for the delivery of their certificates. If the address is found to be incorrect or incomplete, the post will return to the RTO office.
