Udaipur, January 15, 2025 - A German court has ruled that the term "Dubai Chocolate" can only be used for sweets actually made in Dubai. The decision prevents supermarket chain Aldi from selling its "Alyan Dubai Handmade Chocolate," which is produced in Turkey.
The court in Cologne decided that the product’s name could mislead customers into thinking it was made in Dubai, even though Aldi stated the country of origin on the back label. The ruling ensures that product names must accurately reflect their origin to avoid confusion among consumers.
