Tremors were felt in Jammu, Srinagar, Punjab, Delhi-NCR and parts of Pakistan
April 19, 2025 – An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border causing tremors to be felt in Jammu, Srinagar, Punjab, Delhi-NCR and parts of Pakistan. So far there have been no reports of any casualties or damage but authorities are monitoring the situation.
This was the second quake in a week after exactly a week ago, a 5.5 intensity tremor shook Pakistan’s capital and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 12:17 pm IST. The quake's epicentre was located at 36.10 degrees North latitude and 71.20 degrees East longitude, with a depth of 130 kilometres, according to reports.
