ED Tightens Grip on Cricket, Issues Summons to Two Legendary Players – Names and Reasons Shock Fans
Udaipur, Sept 17 2025: Four former players of the Indian cricket team are currently under the radar of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Two of them, Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan, have already been questioned, while Robin Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh have now been summoned.
These four players are accused of being linked to the online betting app 1xBet. It is said that they cheated many people and investors of crores of rupees or evaded a large amount of tax.
According to a PTI report, ED officials said that Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh have been asked to give their statements under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) next week in connection with 1xBet. They said Uthappa must appear at the ED office on September 22, while Yuvraj Singh must appear on September 23. Apart from these players, popular film actor Sonu Sood has also been summoned in the same case. The ED has asked him to give his statement on September 24, officials said on Tuesday.
In this ED investigation, not only players and actors are involved but also politicians. On Monday, the statement of former TMC MP and actress Mimi Chakraborty was also recorded in this case. Reports say that 1xBet’s India brand ambassador and actress Urvashi Rautela did not appear on the scheduled date on Tuesday.
This investigation is related to illegal betting apps. The company, however, claims that 1xBet is a globally known bookmaker that has been in the betting industry for 18 years. According to the company, its customers can bet on thousands of sports events, and the website and app are available in 70 languages.
