Udaipur, December 25,2024 - The Eiffel Tower, one of the most famous landmarks in the world, caught fire on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. This is only the second fire in its history.

The fire started between the second floor and the top of the tower at around 10:50 am local time, according to the sources. About 12,000 visitors were safely evacuated after the fire alarms went off. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Firefighters are now checking what caused the fire. The tower is currently undergoing maintenance work like painting and fixing its lifts, which might be linked to the fire.

The first fire at the Eiffel Tower happened in 1956. Back then, a TV control room at the top caught fire, causing a lot of damage. It took a year to repair, and a new radio antenna was added.

After safety checks and repairs, the Eiffel Tower is expected to reopen soon.
