A 55 year old employee of Nagar Parishad, Udaipur, working as a gardener at Patel Circle was declared dead by the doctors after being hit by a speeding car at Dudh Talai road today.

At around 9 in the morning, a severely wounded Laluram Gameti was brought to the MB Hospital; he succumbed to his injuries as soon as he was admitted to the emergency ward.

According to the Police, the accident occurred when Laluram Gameti, a resident of Kishanpol was returning to Patel Circle from Dudh Talai at 8.30 a.m, on his TVS Moped when he was hit by a white colored Hyundai Accent (RJ-09-CA-4165). The car fled away after hitting him.

He was rushed to the hospital by the 108 Mobile Emergency Services, where he was declared dead.

Amba Lal, son of the deceased informed U.T that his father left the house at 8 am to mark his attendance at the office at Dudh Talai, which is his daily routine.

Information of the incidence was given to the Ghanta Ghar Police Station at 9.30 am by Amba Lal; thereafter police has launched a hunt for the car.

The body of the deceased is kept at a mortuary for postmortem.
