Udaipur's inaugural eco-friendly electric boat trials have commenced in Udaipur's picturesque Pichola Lake. These battery-operated boats are currently undergoing the licensing and approval process.

With completion anticipated shortly, plans are underway to launch these boats for tourists starting May 10, 2024. Representatives from the boat manufacturing company in Mumbai were present during the trial of a luxurious 20-seater boat, evaluating technical aspects such as battery efficiency, speed, and motor performance.

Alongside the trials, preparations for tourist operations are in progress, including the installation of seats, covers, and other amenities onboard the boats.

In adherence to the municipality's tender terms, the number of boats on the lake has been reduced from 18 petrol and diesel-powered boats to 15 eco-friendly alternatives. Presently, three eco-friendly boats and two rescue boats have been introduced, with plans for two special tourist boats. Routes for these vessels on the lake will be determined soon.
