To be built at a cost of Rs 175 crore, this road is expected to take 2-2.5 years to complete and aims to eliminate traffic jams on the Debari-Pratap Nagar route
Udaipur, February 27, 2025 - Plans are afoot to construct an elevated road from Debari to Pratap Nagar to alleviate traffic jams on that route. The drawing and Detailed Project Report (DPR) are currently being prepared and work will begin as soon as details are finalised. To be built at a cost of Rs 175 crore, this road is expected to take 2-2.5 years to complete.
The elevated road will begin from just before the Debari intersection and connect to the old RTO road, exiting near Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. The entire stretch will have two underpasses.
Currently, travellers heading from Chittorgarh to Pindwara face accident risks at the Debari intersection as also those driving from Pindwara towards Udaipur as they have to take a detour through Dahan ka Khera and Singhawaton ka Wada.
Once this elevated road is constructed, it will eliminate traffic jams from Pratap Nagar intersection to Debari. Passengers traveling to Dabok airport will have a smooth drive without getting delayed. The distance from Pratap Nagar to the airport will then take approximately 15-20 minutes compared to the current 35-40 minutes because of traffic congestion.
