MLAs Tarachand Jain and Phool Singh Meena perform puja to mark the commencement of this important project
Udaipur, December 16, 2024. The much-awaited construction of the elevated road in the city officially began on December 14. City MLA Tarachand Jain and Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena performed puja to mark the commencement of this important project. Former Mayor GS Tank, Udaipur Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash, former chairman of the Construction Committee Ashish Kothari and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Following the puja, Transrail Lighting Ltd, the company responsible for the construction, immediately started the excavation for the erection of pillars. The project is expected to be completed in the next two years. The Municipal Corporation will remove encroachments along the route to ensure there are no disruptions to the construction work.
The construction of the elevated road will be supported by the Municipal Corporation, Udaipur Development Authority (UDA), and the State Government. The government has already approved financial support for the project with the break-up being as such - Municipal Corporation Rs 47.91 crore (35%); UDA Rs 61.60 crore (45%), and State Government Rs 27.38 crore (20%).
Once the elevated road is ready, it is expected to improve traffic in the city significantly.
The foundation stone for the elevated road had been laid on November 18 by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria.
