On-site inspection was carried out to confirm acquisition of 4 metres land from Hanuman mandir; work will begin on approval from relevant authorities
Udaipur, December 7, 2024 - An inspection of Court Chauraha area was carried out by officials yesterday as part of the upcoming elevated road project in the city. While reviewing the current planning, a decision was taken to acquire four meters of land from the Hanuman temple located there.
Inspection was carried out in the presence of City MLA Tarachand Jain, along with officials from the Devasthan Department and Udaipur Nagar Nigam. It was reaffirmed that the stretch starting from the temple entrance to the steps inside the temple would have to be taken over to facilitate the elevated road construction. Additionally, it was also proposed that a shop on the premise be removed.
Mukesh Pujari, Superintending Engineer (SE) of Nagar Nigam, has informed Jatin Gandhi, Assistant Commissioner of Devasthan Department, about the requirement for the land. Measurement of the site was also taken which confirmed the extent of the requirement.
According to MLA Jain, once the land is acquired alterations will have to be made to the premise structure. For instance, the new entry and exit to the temple will be from the road which goes from the Court to Girwa Tehsil instead of the existing main road entrance.
Both departments have exchanged letters regarding the land acquisition. Assurance was given that the take-over would not harm the temple or impact its original structure in any way. It will be the Nigam's responsibility to build the entrance and the wall bypassing the acquired land. Once approval from Devasthan Department is received, work will begin, said SE Pujari.
Other officials present at the inspection include executive engineer Akhil Goyal, assistant engineer Sunil Prajapat, junior engineer Pratibha Sharma, BJP Rural vice-president and former Bar Association president Ramkripa Sharma and Dhanshyam Singh Chauhan.
