UIT team member breaking the extension track

UIT demolished illegal encroachment at Pratapnagar on Thursday. Interestingly, owner of the demolished shop was using portable cabin which was basically an extension of his shop.

Mukesh Gakhrecha had a paan shop at Pratapnagar crossing. He had installed two angles for the purpose of extension and a track on which he would roll out his shop which had wheels underneath. This way his shop would get extended on to the footpath which actually obstructed the footpath. Other shop owners of that area were facing a lot of discomfort as this paan shop was obstructing the view and working of other shops.

UIT had sent a notice to Gakhrecha after they received complaints from other shop owners. Mukesh Gakhrecha did not respond to the notice nor did he appear before the court for the hearing. On 21st March, Mukesh was directed by UIT to remove the aforesaid encroachment within a period of 3 days to which he did not pay heed. Taking action against this encroachment, UIT demolished the extensions applied to the paan shop. They even demolished other illegal construction connected with this shop.
