In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion, the Municipal Corporation took decisive action against encroachments obstructing the road in front of the railway station. The corporation's anti-encroachment team swiftly moved into action on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, seizing two pushcarts, five stools, and two benches from the area.
Despite facing opposition from residents of the nearby slum, the municipal team were determined to do their work. Prior to the arrival of the enforcement team, vendors attempted to relocate their stalls inside the railway station gate, only to have them confiscated by railway police during the operation.
The encroachment issue had arisen as businesses from the nearby slum had extended their operations onto the road, causing difficulties for vehicles navigating the area, particularly those arriving at the railway station. Prompted by reports of the disruption, Udaipur municipal corporation intervened to clear the thoroughfare.
