Udaipur, December 6, 2024 - Temple authorities at Udaipur's Eklingji Temple in Kailashpuri, have issued strict guidelines for entry into the temple. Visitors in shorts, mini skirts, or similar types of attire will not be allowed entry into the temple. The rule changes have been made in response to complaints from devotees associated with the temple, say the authorities, to maintain sanctity of the premises.

The new guidelines are as below:

• Mobile phones will now not be allowed into the temple area. Earlier, devotees were asked to switch off their phones before entering.
• Shoes, socks and leather items (wallets, belts and bags) have to be removed before entering the premises.
• Smoking is prohibited within the temple premises.
• Photography is not permitted.
• Gutka, pan masala, matches, lighters are not allowed.
• Individuals under the influence of intoxicants will be denied entry.
• Pets and weapons of any kind are also prohibited within the temple.
