The widened intersection will prevent bottleneck for Mount Abu-Nathdwara travellers
Udaipur, October 28, 2024 - The Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) is set to begin work on widening the Fatehpura intersection after Diwali. As per Rahul Jain, Commissioner, UDA, this work is expected to start soon following the recent dismissal of a petition filed by some tenants of shops on the intersection. Fourteen petitioners had obtained a stay order from the Rajasthan High Court since 2007.
It is believed that expanding the intersection will significantly alleviate traffic congestion. Once the intersection has been widened, it should provide jam-free route to tourists traveling between Mount Abu and Nathdwara.
Most tourists entering and exiting the city to and from Mount Abu and Nathdwara use this route, leading to frequent traffic jams due to the high volume of vehicles. The bottleneck situation on the Siphon Road further aggravates the problem.
Earlier, the intersection had been widened to some extent after the UDA had acquired land from four shops on one side of the Fatehpura intersection.
