A factory caught fire on Monday night at 11:30 and the explosions created a terror in Ayad area. Reasons behind the fire are yet to be identified.

There is a factory in front of Ayad Museum that manufactures plastic and iron lids/covers for drums. On Monday night, this factory suddenly caught fire and since the drums contained oil the fire took a massive form and spread quickly. The drums started exploding and the area was engulfed with smoke and smell of burning oil.

The explosions were loud enough to create terror in the area and forced the residents to move out of their houses for safety. 40 fire fighters took almost an hour to control the fire. The factory manufactures drums and has the godown in the same premise. Some the drums were full of oil, and probably one of the plastic drums filled with oil caught fire.

The explosion due to oil in the drums made them bounce and the sounds were quite terrorising. The fire brigade teams had to use mechanical foam to douse the fire.
