A rally was organized today by the members of ‘Bharat Sanskrit Parishad’ to promote Sanskrit language and bring it forward as the second regional language.
Around 250 individuals including Students from 30 districts and Faculty of Bharat Sanskrit Parishad carried the rally from Town Hall to Surajpol, Bapu Bazar and Delhigate; finally assembling back at Town Hall.
Ram Krishna Shastri, Union Minister informed that, “A workshop titled ‘Sanskrit Bhasha Shivir’ is also going on for teaching the Sanskrit language to interested individuals, which began on 24th Dec and will be concluding tomorrow.”
“There are nearly 15 lac students studying Sanskrit, 10,000 Teachers teaching it and 5,000 Principals involved in the process; then why can’t the language be put forward as a second regional language? It has already provided many with job opportunities, so it would be more fruitful if government can take suitable steps to promote it”, he added.
The association is working for past 10 years, and organizes 4 workshops every year for promoting the language. Shastri also informed that a conference will be organized in the near future in Jaipur for the same purpose.
