Badgaon area of Udaipur has had many reports of theft in the recent past. This time it was a case of lucky residents and unlucky thieves. The car obtained from the spot left by the thieves bears registration plate from Gujarat.

Wednesday night proved to be unlucky for thieves as their attempt failed when the residents woke up and created enough noise that forced the thieves to run away. The incident occurred in Shree Complex colony in Badgaon. Thieves were trying their luck in a house when the lady Anjana Shrimali and her son Jitesh woke up and started shouting when they sensed thieves in the house. Hearing the noise, the thieves tried to escape in their car.

Since it was an unlucky day for the thieves, their car got stuck in a big drain. Unable to move ahead, the thieves left the car and escaped from the place. Police found a bag and 2 mobiles in the car which bears Gujarat registration plate GJ-18 AA-1389.

The bag that was found in the car was stolen from a house in Bedla-Badgaon link road 4 days back. The bag has been returned to the respective owner. There were 2 thieves as per the mobiles recovered from the car. Police is now trying to find the details of mobile owners.

Anjana Shrimali and her son had seen 2 men trying to break the lock of the door and had started shouting to wake up the other residents of the colony. Public had rushed in with lathis in their hands which was good enough to make the thieves flee. But luck was not on their side and their car got stuck. Police has also taken CCTV footages but the faces of the thieves are not clear enough. It is expected that the mobile details and car number will bring out the clues regarding the identity of thieves.
