The link tunnel between Pichola and Fateh sagar lake will be opened today to start filling up Fateh sagar lake. Lake Pichola has been receiving water from Aakodra dam and Alsigarh over the last few days.

Water level at Lake Pichola has already crossed 9 feet. The link channel between Pichola and Fateh sagar will remain open till the water level of Fateh sagar lake reaches 11 feet. After that the gate will be closed.

Fateh sagar lake currently is at 6.5 feet. As per the irrigation department officials, there is enough supply available from Aakodra dam to take level of both lakes upto 11 feet.
