Udaipur, December 4,2024 - The delay in completing the road work at Fatehpura Circle, one of Udaipur’s busiest intersections, is causing significant trouble for commuters. Despite the removal of a bottleneck over a month ago, the road remains incomplete.
As part of the project, eight shops on the Bedla-to-RK Circle route were demolished by the UIT on November 3, 2024. The removal aimed to ease traffic congestion at this busy intersection.
After clearing debris, UIT laid a temporary gravel road. However, proper blacktopping has not yet been completed, making travel difficult for vehicles. The intersection connects key routes, including Mount Abu, Nathdwara, Jaipur, and Sirohi, with approximately 66,000 vehicles passing through daily.
UIT officials explained that several pipelines were damaged during the demolition process, which caused delays. The repairs are now complete, and UIT expects to finish the road construction within the next 15–20 days.
Previously, another bottleneck was removed on the opposite side of Fatehpura Circle, at the turn from RK Circle to Sukhadia Circle. The clearance began on September 26 last year, and by December 5, all obstacles were removed. The road construction started on December 14, 2023 and was completed within 10 days, including proper blacktopping.
