In spite of all the projects, campaigns and movements to save girl child, there are still some people who want to get rid of female child. Whether it is fear of rejection by in-laws or a prevailing ancient nonsensical thinking in particular society, people go to the extent of killing unborn female child in some or the other way.

Residents near Subsidy centre, which falls in area of Hiranmagri police station, found a female foetus in garbage on Friday evening. The female foetus was being attacked by dogs constantly. Police were called for who took the foetus away from the dogs to MB Hospital mortuary. As per police, the foetus is probably a day old. Case has been registered against unknown and investigations have started in this case. Private hospitals are also being thoroughly investigated in hope of finding a clue to the case.
