Field Club Election: All for the Glory
The election for the working committee of Field Club is known to be one of the most rejoiced socio-political activities of Udaipur, socio, as club members are socially involved with each other on every occasion and political as the elections are also taken too seriously.
So the upcoming election of the club has currently become the talk of the town. With the passing of the last date for the nominations and registration, candidates are now preparing for campaigning. The election is scheduled on 8th April.

14 members will try their luck for the posts of Vice president, Secretary, Treasurer and Executive members.
Three candidates contesting for the post of Vice-president are Dr. Kailash Sodani, K.L Dhabai and Yashwant Anchaliya; for the post of Secretary the fight is considered to be close knit between Dr. Anuj Sharma and Satyendrapal Singh Chabda (Tinku) as both are believed to be of equal calibre.
Manish Nalwaya and Kuldeep Nahar will prove their potentials for the post of Treasurer, however if sources are to be believed, the chances of Manish Nalwaya is bit up because of his professional expertise as a Chartered Accountant which is suitable for the post.
Seven contestants have filed their nominations for the post of Executive Members. The nominations have been filed by Abbas Ali Bhalamwala, Anish Dhing, Chatrapati Sarupriya, Jasneet Singh Pawa, Dr. Lalit Sharma, Naresh Sharma and Rakesh Chordiya.
Field Club which was established in the year 1931 as a recreational club, is one of the oldest organized clubs of Udaipur with 2870 members. Its annual membership fee is Rs.2300 although one has to cough up Rs.5 Lakh for registration as a member which also includes series of assessment procedures.
The club is a home for mostly professionals and business families. Many elite personalities of Udaipur were associated with the field club which includes former chief minister Mohal Lal Sukhadia, former President of Board of Control for Cricket in India, Raj Singh Dungarpur, Industrialist, P.P Singhal and Ibrahim Engineer.
The club is also affiliated with more than 100 different clubs of the country.
