Forest area in Kodiyat behind a plastic area was on fire on Tuesday. It was a matter of relief that the fire did not reach the plastic factory. The rise in temperatures resulted in burning up of dry weeds, leaves and vegetation behind the factory. The fire had almost reached the garbage heap just behind the factory but by then fire brigade took immediate steps and doused the fire though the fire in the forest area could be doused only after about 3 and half hours.

The factory employees also came forward to remove the heaps of garbage so as to prevent the fire from spreading elsewhere. The incident occurred around 12 noon. The entire factory team gathered immediately and took quick steps for controlling the fire from spreading. There was a lot of plastic garbage outside the factory which also got burnt but the rest of it was removed by the employees. But by this time the fire had spread to 500 metres. The arrival of fire brigade team brought much relief as the fire fighters started showering water over the entire area and took control over the situation in 3 and half hours.
