There was massive fire in 2 garment showrooms at Durga Nursery road on Thursday night. The fire occurred at around 8:45 p.m. and it was so massive that it took 3 hours to control the situation. There was a lot of aggression among the public as the fire fighting vehicles were not equipped with proper systems. The reasons behind the fire are still unknown.

2 branded garment showrooms belonging to 2 brothers caught fire. The owners said that they have suffered a heavy loss as they had recently brought stocks worth 30 lakh rupees for the upcoming festive season. The losses are yet to be assessed. The showrooms were closed at 8 p.m. after which the owners left for home. The security guard of HDFC Bank saw the fire at 8:45 p.m. and informed the owners.

Fire fighting vehicles that came for controlling the situation were not adequately equipped. The water hose started leaking when they began the work. The fire fighting did not even have torches with them. Basically they came in a jiffy and did not check the equipments before leaving for the site. Public became aggressive because of this. The Mayor and ADM City also reached the site and assured the public that strict action will be taken against the fire brigade for their negligence. It took 3 hours to control the situation. Reasons behind the fire are yet to be identified.
