Western Railways successfully ran its first bio-diesel train from Ratlam to Udaipur. 5% Biodiesel was added in the fuel of the Indore-Udaipur 19329 Virbhoomi Express.

Western Railways successfully ran its first bio-diesel train from Ratlam to Udaipur. 5% Biodiesel was added in the fuel of the Indore-Udaipur 19329 Virbhoomi Express.

Western Railways (WR) carried out the bio-diesel test on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5-June. Basis the results from this journey, WR will take a call on extending the bio-diesel mixture in other trains as well.

5% Biodiesel was added in the 5000 Ltr capacity engine as fuel. Adding Biofuel not only will result in financial savings for the railways but will also be of significant environment value. DRM at Ratlam station, RN Sunkar and other officials were present while flagging off the train from Ratlam station.
