March 28, 2026 – The West Asia war has entered its 29th day with no signs of any slowing. Casualty figures and infrastructure damages continue to mount. The US-Israel co-ordinated strikes on Iran have weakened Iran’s missile capabilities, says the US. However, there seems no let-up in Iran’s retaliatory attacks, especially on the neighbouring Gulf nations.

The death toll of Indians in the ongoing conflict has gone up to seven when one Indian national was killed and another injured when hit by the debris of an intercepted missile in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.  The casualties have occurred across several incidents, including in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Abu Dhabi,

At least five Indians have been injured in two fires in Abu Dhabi caused by falling debris following the interception of a ballistic missile fired by Iran on Saturday (March 28). The Abu Dhabi media office confirmed the incident on X saying, “Relevant authorities in Abu Dhabi are responding to two fire incidents in the vicinity of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi – KEZAD, caused by falling debris following the successful interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems. Further updates will be provided in due course.”

The deadlock over the Strait of Hormuz continues with some “friendly” nations being allowed safe passage by Iran. Repeated broadcasts over maritime radio channels are being reported by vessels transiting the Strait. These announcements are believed to be broadcast by Iran’s IRGC Navy, which say, “Attention all ships… This is the Sepah Navy… navigation through Strait of Hormuz is forbidden… no ship is allowed to pass until further notice.”

Meanwhile, as per sources quoted by ANI, two more merchant vessels carrying petroleum products for India are crossing Strait of Hormuz and that Indian Navy warships are on standby to provide support to them.

Additionally, Thailand’s Prime Minister has said that the country has reached an agreement with Iran to allow Thai oil tankers to transit the Strait.
