The path has been cleared for the notification of Rajasthan's sixth tiger reserve. The state government has formed an 11-member expert committee to finalize the boundaries of the Kumbhalgarh Tiger Reserve.
The committee, chaired by the Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Udaipur, will include the Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Rajsamand as the member secretary. This committee is tasked with submitting its report by October 31, 2024.
The report will determine the designations for core areas, critical tiger habitats, buffer zones, and peripheral areas within the reserve. Once the report is received, the process for officially notifying the tiger reserve will move forward.
