Udaipur, January 3, 2025: Bohra Youth Medical Relief Society (BYMRS) and Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) jointly organised a free consultation, check-up and medical camp yesterday at the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat Khana in Bohrawadi. The camp, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, provided free consultations and medical services, including blood sugar, blood pressure and lipid tests, to around 200 people. Several specialist doctors offered their services, including senior physician Dr Shaukat Ali Bohra, gynaecologist Dr Sanchita Dashora, kidney specialist Dr Ashutosh Soni, and cardiologist Dr Harish Sanadhya.

Speaking at the camp, gynaecologist Dr Sanchita Dashora said that cervical cancer is a grave issue and vaccination in adolescent girls can help prevent this disease. The WHO has set a goal to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030 and it is expected that the Government of India may include vaccination against cervical cancer in the regular immunisation policy this year, she added.

Kidney Specialist Dr Ashutosh Soni told the gathering that patients suffering from diseases like high blood pressure and high blood sugar should regularly check their kidney function to prevent any adverse effects on the kidneys and avoid unnecessary complications.

Senior physician Dr Shaukat Ali Bohra advised that, in addition to medications and regular check-up, a proper diet and regular exercise are crucial for the treatment of any disease.

The PCMH team provided support in the camp along with Tahira Rajnagarwala, Anwar Tinwala, Mohammad Hussain Sabeelwala and Ahmed Ali Nath.

According to DBJ spokesperson Mansoor Orawala, the camp was inaugurated by Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat (DBJ) president Iqbal Hussain Rassawala. Also present on the occasion were Bohra Youth Medical Relief Society (BYMRS) president Anees Miyaji, BYMRS secretary Sarfaraz Rajnagarwala; local Municipal Councillor Shehnaz Ayub, former Municipal Councillor Mohammad Ayub, former DBJ secretary Zakir Pansari, DBJ joint secretary Ali Asghar Khilonawala, Udaipur Urban Cooperative Bank Director Khursheed DK, Shabbir Nasir, Dr Zarina Taj, Shabbir Tailor and others.
