Udaipur is set to be adorned with the colourful hues of the traditional Gangaur festival to be held on April 11 till April 13,2024. This festival is organized by the Tourism Department each year. Kicking off the festivities, a procession will be held on the streets, starting from Ghantaghar and reaching at Gangaur Ghat. Adorned in traditional attire, women will partake in age-old rituals. This festival will take place between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, drawing locals and tourists alike to witness the vibrant celebration.
Royal procession at Gangaur Ghat will start from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a boat procession will mesmerize onlookers with its regal charm, offering a unique experience against the backdrop of Udaipur's scenic beauty.
Following this, the evening will come alive with presentations by local artists at Gangaur Ghat, starting from 7:00 PM onwards.
Highlighting inclusivity and cultural exchange, the festivities on April 12, 2024, will feature a Best Traditional Dress competition for foreign tourists, adding a touch of global flair to the celebrations. Additionally, the tourism department has announced a platform for deaf and mute children to showcase their talents, including singing and painting.
Beyond the city limits, the spirit of Gangaur resonates in Gogunda, where a vibrant fair will be held from April 11 to April 13, 2024. Featuring a bustling market, traditional processions, and cultural programs, the event promises to captivate visitors with the essence of Rajasthan's rich heritage.
The festivities are set to showcase an array of performances from diverse regions, including the Terah Taal and Gavari dance from Gogunda,Kachchhi Ghodi dance from Udaipur, and Sahariya Swang from Baran, among others.
