Udaipur, December 9,2024 - Fateh Sagar Lake is facing a serious threat due to garbage and dirty water being dumped into it. During a lake inspection on Sunday, December 8, 2024, lake activists expressed their anger over the worsening condition of the Uparla lake area of Fateh Sagar.
The inspection was attended by lake expert Dr. Anil Mehta, former member of the Lake Development Authority Tej Shankar Paliwal, and other lake enthusiasts like Nand Kishore Sharma, Kushal Rawal, and Drupad Singh.
The activists reported that large amounts of garbage are being dumped into the lake from the road in front of Sanjay Park. Additionally, dirty water from colonies in the Mastan Baba area is flowing into the lake.
A major garbage dumping site has been set up behind the lake. This site contains a lot of polythene and plastic waste, further harming the lake's water quality.
Fateh Sagar Lake provides drinking water to the city. Polluting the lake puts citizens' health at risk. Activists are urging the District Lake Development Authority to take immediate action to clean the lake and stop the pollution.
