According to reliable sources, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) plans to establish a dedicated 'Gender Unit' at the Rajasthan Police Academy. The primary objective of this unit will be to enhance the police's capacity to effectively respond to cases of gender-based violence. On Monday, June 12, 2023, Andrea Wojnar, the UNFPA India Representative,inaugurated a specialized 'Gender Unit' at the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA). 

The RPA serves as a training institution for police officers and various other cadres in the state. The establishment of this unit aims to strengthen the response of the police force to incidents of gender-based violence. The Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) is an esteemed institution in the state of Rajasthan, India, responsible for the training and development of police officers and other personnel. 

In order to enhance their understanding of gender-related issues and legislation, including the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, trainers at the Rajasthan Police Academy will undergo specialized training. This initiative aims to equip the trainers with comprehensive knowledge and skills in addressing gender concerns and promoting a safe and inclusive work environment within the police force. By ensuring that trainers are well-versed in relevant laws and best practices, the academy seeks to enhance their ability to educate and guide future police officers on gender-related matters.
