The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially released the Election Planner for the upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha in 2024. This comprehensive guide outlines various activities leading up to the election, complete with specific timelines for each crucial step. The Poll Day, tentatively set for April 16, 2024, serves as the reference point for calculating the start and end dates of each activity. 

Several media platforms have misinterpreted the recent letter from the Election Commission. They are incorrectly considering April 16, 2024, as the official polling date, whereas the Election Commission of India has only provided it as a tentative date. 

In a significant move towards transparency and efficient communication, the Election Planner Portal will send notifications to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi through SMS and email on every start and end date of the scheduled activities. This ensures real-time updates and adherence to the prescribed timelines.

The CEO's office is mandated to maintain the status of each activity, marking them as Pending, In Progress, Scheduled, or Completed based on the reports received from District Election Officers (DEOs), Returning Officers (ROs), and the relevant branches at CEO (HQ).
