The Sajjangarh Biological Park in Udaipur is expected to receive 4 giraffes, the tallest mammal in the world. In order to bring the animal, the State Forest Department is expediting the paperwork. Discussions for the new addition in Rajasthan have started after gaining approval from the Central Zoo Authority (CZA).

It has been decided to bring the giraffe first and tender to construct its cage will also be floated soon.” - Ajay Chittora, Deputy Conservator of Forests.
5 hectare of land have been set out for the construction of the cages that will contain four giraffes. There are about 30 Northern giraffes kept in captivity throughout the country. Rajasthan will also become like Mysuru, Chennai, Patna, Guwahati and Hyderabad to have giraffe in its possession.
Giraffes from Alipore are anticipated to be brought in Rajasthan. The Sajjangarh Park administrators will also open a nocturnal zoo, the first of its kind in the state and the second in the nation after Gujarat.
