Dr. Girija Vyas, Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation met the 21-year-old Kapasan rape survivor at MB Hospital, Udaipur today and promised her all required assistance.

Dr. Girija Vyas, Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation met the 21-year-old Kapasan rape survivor at MB Hospital, Udaipur today and promised her all required assistance.

The victim girl lost both her legs after she was allegedly thrown in front of a moving train by the two accused, Narvar Singh and Kamal Singh on 16th Sept at Fatahpura, Kapasan. Both accused are arrested by Kapasan Police.

Dr. Girija Vyas said that the girl and her family will get all required support; including financial, legal and health related assistance by the government and the case will be taken to Fast Track Court. The victim girl is the only earner in her family which includes her younger brother and mother.

Girija Vyas said that the girl will get prosthetic limbs so that she can stand and walk again. When asked about her job, Dr. Vyas said that she will get job under any government department according to her qualification.

The girl is admitted in Udaipur’s MB Hospital and is in regular care of the doctors.

Girija Vyas also assured that the case will be taken to Fast Track so the victim gets justice and the accused get their punishment.

“I will personally look into this matter and will do whatever I can to help the victim girl” said Girija Vyas.

Girija Vyas also talked to the mother of the victim and comforted her. This is the first visit of any high profile minister to the rape survivor after the incident.
