Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Girija Vyas addressed a two-day National Workshop on “Urbanization and Citizenship – Special Reference to Town Planning” held at UGC Hall, Vidya Bhawan Teachers’ Training College, Udaipur.

The Workshop, organized by Vidya Bhawan Society, was inaugurated by Dr. Girija Vyas and the panel discussed civic problems and ongoing development work in Udaipur.

In her address to the attendees, Dr. Vyas emphasized on the increasing number of Slum Colonies as one of the biggest problem in the city. She said that slum dwellers need to be given proper residence, which will develop urbanization and will benefit slum dwellers.

The Workshop was divided into several sessions, in which, all top administration and civic authority were invited to express their views, comments and suggestions, the outcome of which, will be elucidated to MP Raghuveer Singh Meena.

Dr. Subodh Agarwal (Divisional Commissioner), Aditi Mehta (Additional Chief Secretary), Roop Kumar Khurana, (UIT President), R.P Sharma (UIT Secretary), Ashutosh Pendekar (District Collector) will also attend the workshop over the next two days.

Dr. Riyaz Tehsin, President, Vidya Bhawan and Dr. Ajay Mehta, President, Seva Mandir welcomed all prominent guests and coordinated the program.
