A 17 year old girl attempted suicide in Sukher area on 8^th July. As per reports, this girl was depressed after she was betrayed by a youth.

The girl’s father lodged a complaint in Sukher police station against Kishan Patel who established physical relations with the girl. This girl met Kishan 4 years back and she was only 13 years old then. Kishan promised the girl around one and a half years back that he would marry her and forced her to have physical relations. Later the girl who is still a minor asked Kishan to marry her but he refused. He even misbehaved with her and threatened to publicise her photographs.

The girl narrated the entire incident to her father who in turn went to ask Kishan to marry his daughter. Kishan misbehaved with him, too. Depressed with the situation, the girl tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. She was rushed to the hospital and is undergoing treatment. Police is investigating the matter. Case has been filed against Kishan Patel under IPC Section 376, 384 and POCSO Act.
