Agitated over the Commerce College administration’s decision to shift some classes to MLSU campus, girl students today forcibly closed the college.
More than 50 girls, pursuing MBI or M.com (Banking), organized together with student leaders, Pankaj Borana and Jitendra Singh, to shut down the classes going on in the College.
Majority of protestors, who are from places outside Udaipur, claimed that administration’s decision to move their classes from Commerce College to Vanijya Bhawan at MLSU will create commuting problems for them. Such students chose to stay closer to Commerce College at the time of admission. They said that MLSU campus is far from their places of residence.
A student said, “There is only a month left for our exams, the commerce college administration has already stopped conducting our classes here, while there is no sign of classes to start at MLSU.”
“We have been objecting over college admin’s decision for last one month but they are ignoring our concerns. If we don’t get a positive reply, we will go to Vice Chancellor’s office tomorrow,” said a student.
MLSU Student leader Pankaj Borana and Commerce College student leader Jitendra Singh supported the protests.
