Give impetus to economic activities | No fresh lockdown to be imposed in India - PM Modi

As the country reels under the economic impact of the COVID19 lockdown and the current situation still magnanimous in terms of health risks, the Prime Minister has assured that there will be no fresh lockdowns imposed in the country.

This was confirmed by Gujart Dy CM Nitin Patel, in the joint video conference with PM Modi in the presence of Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani.

Patel said that the PM, in his vidoe conference with the Gujarat state heads on 17 June, said that the talk of fresh lockdown spreading on social media are unwarranted. Social media is full of rumors every now and then about fresh lockdowns in the light of rising COVID19 cases.  There is no plan with the government to impose another lockdown as the impact of the lockdown to the economy is apparent.  The economy was already in worrying state even before the COVID19 outbreak and the lockdown has hammered down the damage to a significant stage.

PM Modi, as per Patel, said that the fight against COVID19 will be an ongoing one, but the economy cannot be neglected. Business has to increase and investments need to come in. He added that the people need to be cautious in maintaining social distancing and all protocol needs to be followed to ensure that safety and business proceed alongwise simultaneously.
