The second day of the 5 day “Master Plan” workshop got to witness experts deliberating on issues related to lake conservation and the road traffic situation in Udaipur.

The venue of the second day of the Integrating Heritage Resources in Master Plan of Udaipur workshop was the City Palace auditorium where Geraldine Mastelli, Francois Nowakowski and Alice Delzant, city planners from the French city of Strasbourg shed light on the existing traffic system of Strasbourg.

They shared ideas on public transportation, which is commonly used in their city of Strasbourg. The speakers from France observed that if the people of Udaipur converge on using public modes of transport rather than their own personal vehicles, it will obviously reduce the number vehicles on the road and make the traffic system more robust, powerful and easy to manage.

Speaking on lake conservation, the experts showed great interest in applying technical methods introduced by the former rulers of Mewar.

The team of experts from Udaipur highlighted the loopholes regarding road traffic management and lake water conservation.

Bhupendra Singh Ahuwa and Dr. Mayank Gupta, representatives of Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation; S.K Shrimali, R.C Kaviya and H.A Sancheti from the Urban Improvement Trust; Irshad Ahmed, Shishirkant Varshney, Manish Arora, Neeraj Mathur and Shashibala Singhsh, members of the Udaipur Nagar Parishad; Dr. Shikha Jain, Director of the Drone Foundation Gurgaon; Gabriel Odin, Akash Hingorani from New Delhi; V. Govind Kutty from Mysore and Mahesh Sharma and B.L Mantri from Udaipur were the other main participants and speakers in today event.
