Two major agendas have been discussed by the Municipal Corporation of Udaipur in a meeting of the Garage Committee today afternoon.

The 13 member committee headed by Manohar Singh Panwar, President of the Garage Committee has finally discussed the already passed proposal of setting up a Golf Cart service at the Gulab Bagh zoo.

Another significant verdict was discussed on wastage of food at the city’s Vatikas which are commonly used for hosting wedding ceremonies. Now, Municipal Corporation will charge a monthly fix amount from Vatika owners and the Corporation will be accountable for clearing all kind of wastage occurring due to wedding functions.

According to Panwar, there are initial plans of putting 5-7 Golf Carts at Gulab Bagh as a common public transportation and it will be payable.

However, opposition member Ayub Khan was not so optimistic about the idea of golf cart and stated it “not required” in the present situation as maintenance of Gulab Bagh was given to Municipal Corporation by PWD and the time frame is to be over in a month.

“If they (PWD) give Gulab Bagh back then we can think of putting the idea of Golf Cart, otherwise it is not necessary right now” said Ayub Khan.

Vatika owners will be compelled to pay a monthly amount to Municipal Corp of Udaipur according to their grade. The decision came after noticing large amount of food waste due to marriage ceremonies and dinner parties. According to the discussion by committee members, Municipal Corporation will take care of wastage in Vatikas and in return, Vatika Owners have to pay monthly amount of Rs.5000, Rs.3000 and Rs.2000 as per their grades.
