-All pensioners who usually submit JPP by November 30th can now submit till 28th Feb 2021.

-Pension will not be stopped if someone has failed to submit the certificate in November. 

It is good news for the pensioners who need to provide life certificate by November end every year. And the news is that the deadline for submitting Jeevan Pramaan Patra (JPP)/Life certificate has been extended till February 28, 2021. The move by Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will benefit around 35 lakh pensioners who were unable to submit life certificate by November end due to corona outbreak.

The labour ministry stated that the extension in deadline would be of help to the pensioners who were forced to stay indoors as they are vulnerable to the virus. As of now, 30th November is the date of submitting life certificate every year which is valid for a period of one year from the date of issue.

All such pensioners who could not submit in November and will submit till February will keep getting their pensions every month till February. Pensions will not be stopped during the extended period.

There are multiple modes of submitting life certificates available online including Common Service centres, branches of pension disbursing banks, 1.36 lakh post offices and Grameen Daak Sevaks under the postal department.
